please tune into this newest update - services will be canceled this weekend
updated november 21st, 2020
Dear River Valley Church Family,
It is with great regret that I inform you of our need to cancel all of our services this weekend - tonight and tomorrow (Nov. 21st & 22nd) at all of our campuses.
As you know, our plan was to continue to hold worship services during this two week FREEZE mandate given by our Governor. Our intention was to comply as best as we could according to the spirit of the mandate.
But there have been some new developments yesterday and today that have led our Leadership team to decide it would be best to cancel all of our live services and provide only Church at Home (online).
What happened is that we learned late this week that someone on our leadership team was infected with COVID. We also learned that another couple in our church has been infected by this Leader. Additionally, we learned that another River Valley leader, who also was in contact with this leader, is experiencing some COVID symptoms and is awaiting test results. We then started to consider all of the River Valley leaders that have been exposed to this individual in meetings and in face to face conversations, and we realized we had a potential problem brewing. So, all of these things led us to the very difficult decision, that because of the significant leadership exposure that affects all of our campuses, that we believe the safest and most loving thing to do is cancel all of our services this weekend, and worship together with Church at Home online.
Next week we believe we will be in a much better position to make our church plans for the thanksgiving weekend, as some of the exposed staff will have received back test results. So please stay tuned as we will update you at that time.
Again please accept my deepest apologies for the cancelations. I hate that we need to do this. But please enjoy worshipping together with us at Church at Home on-line/on demand. See the link below in this email or on our website homepage.
Have a very blessed Thanksgiving,
Much Grace and Peace,
Mark Goens
